Trauma Counselling for Motor Vehicle Accidents

ICBC Recovery Support

Healing after a motor vehicle accident takes time and you don’t have to do it alone.
I provide trauma-focused counselling for people recovering from motor vehicle accidents, helping you process what happened, reduce anxiety, and regain a sense of safety in your body and daily life.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or not like yourself since the accident, support is available when you’re ready.

I understand that persistent pain following a motor vehicle injury is not only a physical experience, but one that can affect the nervous system, emotions, relationships, sense of safety, and quality of life. Sessions are paced with sensitivity to the ongoing impact of injury, disability, and chronic pain.

Because pain and trauma can become interconnected over time, therapy may include approaches such as EMDR for chronic pain to address distressing experiences, pain-related triggers, and nervous system responses. Care is collaborative, evidence-informed, and tailored to each client’s recovery goals.

❋ Pain Informed

I use EMDR, IFS, TIST, and other somatic approaches to support recovery after motor vehicle accidents. This includes adjustment to injury or disability, chronic pain, grief and loss, and common trauma responses such as anxiety while driving, hypervigilance, intrusive memories, sleep disruption, and emotional overwhelm.

❋ Trauma & Neuroscience-Informed

We decide together what feels most important to focus on in therapy. The work is flexible and responsive, shaped by your goals, capacity, and recovery process.

❋ Collaborative Approach

You can expect a supportive, confidential space where your experiences are understood within the broader contexts of identity, culture, systems, and lived experience, with care and respect for what you bring.
